Calogen Extra 200ml

Calogen Extra is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision. Calogen Extra is a high energy (4kcal/ml) fat emulsion. With sugars and sweeteners. Calogen Extra can be used to supplement or fortify the diet of patients who are unable to meet their energy and/or vitamin and mineral requirements from regular dietary intake. Calogen Extra can be used as an energy enhancer in tube feeds and oral nutritional supplements.

INDICATIONS
For enteral use only. ACBS approved, prescribable on form FP10 (GP10 in Scotland) for the following indications: disease-related malnutrition; malabsorption states or other conditions requiring fortification with a high-fat supplement with or without fluid restriction.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS
Not suitable for children under 3 years of age. Not suitable for patients with galactosaemia.

PRECAUTIONS
Not suitable as a sole source of nutrition. Only to be used as a supplement to the normal diet. Use with caution in children aged 3-6 years. Must be used under strict medical supervision.

SHELF LIFE
12 months. Best before date: see the label.

STORAGE
Store in a cool, dry place (5-25??C) and away from direct sunlight. Once opened, Calogen Extra bottle should be stored in a refrigerator (<5??C) and used within 48 hours. Always replace the container lid after use. Wash the cup thoroughly after use. Calogen Extra is not suitable for freezing.
